2013 New Year's Resolutions

At the start/end of every year we claim that we will change our selves, our so called "resolutions".
There seem to be quite a few that everyone does, such as;
- Spend More Time with Family & Friends
- Getting fit
- Quitting bad habbits
- Getting organised etc.
We never seem to go though with them, some people might, but i know i usually don't. It's a good idea to set a reasonable, achieveable goal (Which the ones above seem to be.)  So this year one of my resolutions is to keep my room clean and organised. Amongst my craft, story and work books, felt, paper, clothes, pencils and paint brushes etc. It never seems to stay tidy, although having a small room contributes  to the problem. Ahh, but i have solved this part, this year i am changing rooms so hopefully my goal will be reached! Hazaarr!

Your resolution could be to do more craft, paint more, cook more, discover some new groovy music, anything that takes your fancy!

Eclair and Mintie Christmas Tree Decoration DIY

It's always nice to  have a few yummies and decorations on the christmas dinner/lunch table. Why not hit to birds with one stone and make an edible christmas decoration which will certainly wow the guests, extremely easy to make (to the point where it's practically self explanatory), looks lovely and isn't too expensive to make!

Makes 2 christmas tree decorations.

Materials:
- 1x 375g pack Minties (or other chosen lolly, i tend to go with Minties as they are Christmas colours)
- 2x 200g pack Eclairs
- Sequin pins  (the ones you buy from craft stores)
- 2x Polystyrene/foam  cones/trees
Polystyrene cone
Sequin pins

Method:
Open pack of lollies and pin onto polystyrene cone, pin of in rows starting from the bottom going up. Once at top you could pin on a decorative star or something along those lines. :)

Angy's Birthday

Angy with Percy <3
Frank (the flamingo)
 and Mr Percy (the pineapple)
Angy loved her quirky little Mr Percy Pinapple. I also gave her a flamingo lawn ornament and a mini pinapple eraser. It was a great success.  You could make the pineapple as a decoration, as a toy for a young child (no small parts/choking hazards), or simply for a bit of crafty fun!
Apparently pineapples are known for symbolizing hospitality.... why? I wouldn't have a clue! :P

Mr Percy Pineapple Plush DIY

Mr Percy Pineapple Plush DIY :)

One of my best friends loves pineapples and for her birthday i created a pineapple plush toy. It was rather simple to make although i didn't use a pattern, just made it up as i went so measurements are approximate. It was a fun little crafty activity and took not long to make, i have composed some simple steps so you can make your very own Mr Percy Pineapple!
Materials:

-1x Dark green felt           - Brown embroidery thread
-1x Yellow felt                  - Black/Dark Green cotton
-Toy stuffing                    - White/yellow cotton

 Steps:
  1.  Cut out felt
2x leaves stems
approx 2cm wide x 15cm high

1x circle approx 3cm diameter
3x pineapple body
approx 8cm wide x 13cm high

    2.Join (sew together) Pieces 1 & 2 sides B & C, pieces 2 & 3 sides D & E, pieces 3 & 1 sides F & A. Leave a small whole at the top to add the leaves/stems later on.

3. Sew around leaves, cross over each other, pinch in center and stitch in that spot. In the whole you left previosuly in the pineapple sew in the leaves.

4. Add stuffing

5.  sew a single line of running stich around base and gather and sew up base.

6. Sew circle on open patch beneath the pineapple.

7. Add detailing (brown embroidery thread) to represent the pineapples texture.

And you're done! Enjoy!
Please leave comments and feedback below, and maybe even pictures of your versions of Mr Percy Pineapple!
Thanks,
Jasamika :)
